I grew up in Eugene Oregon. I received a BS in biology from Washington State University and attended Tulane University for medical school. I completed my pediatrics residency at Oregon Health Sciences, happy to get back to the mountains after 4 years in the flat South. I came to Alaska in 2004 and practiced at a local pediatric clinic for 17 years. In 2014 I began to study Anthroposophic Medicine (AM). A more holistic approach to health and wellness, AM looks at the body as well as the soul and spirit in creating a harmonious human experience. I am excited to bring an integrative approach between typical allopathic (Western) medicine and the deeper understanding of the body, soul, and spirit of AM. I look forward to helping individuals and families draw on our innate abilities to create true well being.

I spent my youth as a competitive swimmer in the various places my family lived. I trained at an Olympic level as a swimmer of the freestyle mile through college at University of Missori S&T. After I obtained a Bachelors degree in economics in college and a realization that the business world was not the fit for me, I embarked on a 20 year swim coach career. I coached from beginners level to Olympic level athletes and became a master at motivation and skill development at all of these levels. I am now offering my coaching talents from the pool to life in general while I pursue a Masters in Psychology with the intent of becoming a counselor with trauma and addiction foci. I have a special interest in nutrition as well and see this as a core of creating a health affirming lifestyle. I look forward to helping you explore what you want in life and how best to achieve it using everything you already have in you.
